New Year, New Plans… Where do you begin?

Let’s face it, moving can be one of the most difficult things a family or an office can face.  You will have many questions. Your first question should be, “How do I find a trustworthy mover?”

First, begin by getting recommendations or referrals from family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, and real estate agents in your area. Also, the phone book is still a great source of information when you want to find movers. From these recommendations choose a minimum of three movers and do your research.

Check with local Moving Associations:

Check with the Better Business Bureau
  • Research the moving company's track record online
  • Stick with moving companies that are BBB accredited

It’s important to get an estimate in-person regarding how much your move will cost.  Have them look EVERYWHERE including your garage, closets, basement and attic. An in-home estimate gives the moving company the ability to give you an accurate quote. If a company refuses to do a free in-home estimate, start asking questions.

Big name movers aren’t necessarily the best!  Watch out for online websites saying they will “find you a mover” because they can actually be scammers or brokers acting as just a middle man ready to take some of your hard earned money.  With that in mind, do an early screening from your list of potential movers and do an online background check.  Feel free to ask your potential movers for references as well.

Finally… Be observant and follow your gut impression. Ask questions such as: Do the movers look and act professional? Do they appear confident in answering your questions? Are they helpful and informative with their answers?

This is only the beginning, but a great start in choosing a moving company.  Moving is a stressful time.  We at Superior RelocationServices in Fort Worth, Texas, will be honored to make your upcoming move easier for you.
